Tyler McKay of the Owensboro Oilers pitched a 7-inning complete game shutout on July 1, 2009. The game was limited to seven innings because it was the first game of a double-header.

Three back-to-back homers were hit by Owensboro Oilers’ batters on June 28th in Marion. This is the first time in KIT League history that homeruns have been hit by three consecutive batters. The event took place in the top of the fourth inning, contributing to the 6-1 win for the first-place Oilers.

Cody Pack of the Owensboro Oilers has hit nine homeruns so far this season. At the half-way point of the 2009 season, this number nearly doubles the 2008 record of five homeruns for the season. Cody is on pace to end the season with 16-18 homeruns!

On June 26th, Rob Dyer, of the Marion Bobcats, hit his first homerun of the season in the Bobcats' 13-1 victory over the Owensboro Oilers. The 13-run win is also a record for the Bobcats in their two-year history with the league.
